Cluster many-body expansion: A many-body expansion of the electron correlation energy about a cluster mean field reference

چکیده
The many-body expansion (MBE) is an efficient tool which has a long history of use for calculating interaction energies, binding lattice and so on. In the past, applications MBE to correlation energy have been unfeasible large systems, but recent improvements computing resources sparked renewed interest in capturing using generalized $n$-th order Bethe-Goldstone equation. this work, we extend approach, originally proposed Slater determinant, tensor product state (TPS) based wavefunction. By partitioning active space into smaller orbital clusters, our approach starts from cluster mean field reference TPS configuration includes contribution excited TPSs expansion. This method, named (cMBE), improves convergence at lower orders compared directly doing block RHF reference. We present numerical results strongly correlated systems such as one- two-dimensional Hubbard models chromium dimer. performance cMBE method also tested by extended $\pi$ several $\pi$-conjugated including graphene nano-sheet with very 114 electrons orbitals, would require $10^{66}$ determinants exact FCI solution.

Electrostatically Embedded Many-Body Expansion for Simulations.
We have applied the electrostatically embedded many-body (EE-MB) method truncated at the two-body level (also called the pairwise additive EE-MB method or the EE-PA approximation) and the three-body level (called EE-3B) to calculate the gradient of the potential energy for a simulation box containing 64 water molecules. We employed the B3LYP density functional with the 6-31+G(d,p) basis set for...
متن کاملJoule expansion of a pure many-body state.
We derive the Joule expansion of an isolated perfect gas from the principles of quantum mechanics. Contrary to most studies of irreversible processes which consider composite systems, the interesting and ignored degrees of freedom are here described by operators acting in the same many-body Hilbert space. Moreover, the expansion of the gas into the entire accessible volume is obtained for pure ...
متن کاملTwo-particle resonant states in a many-body mean field.
A formalism to evaluate the resonant states produced by two particles moving outside a closed shell core is presented. It is found that long lived two-body states (including bound states) are mostly determined by either bound single-particle states or by narrow single-particle resonances. However, they can be significantly affected by the continuum part of the spectrum.
متن کاملAiming for benchmark accuracy with the many-body expansion.
Conspectus The past 15 years have witnessed an explosion of activity in the field of fragment-based quantum chemistry, whereby ab initio electronic structure calculations are performed on very large systems by decomposing them into a large number of relatively small subsystem calculations and then reassembling the subsystem data in order to approximate supersystem properties. Most of these meth...
متن کاملRadiative heat transfer: many-body effects
Heat transfer by electromagnetic radiation is one of the common methods of energy transfer between objects. Using the fluctuation-dissipation theorem, we have studied the effect of particle arrangement in the transmission of radiative heat in many-body systems. In order to show the effect of the structure morphology on the collective properties, the radiative heat transfer is studied and the re...
